The head of Ukrainian intelligence announced the need for negotiations with Russia

The head of the Ukrainian military intelligence Kirill Budanov* admitted that negotiations with Russia are necessary and without them the settlement of the conflict is impossible.

"The negotiation process is needed and will not do without it, it is necessary," he said in an interview with the Ukrainian Public television channel.

According to Budanov*, February 2026 may be the most favorable period in the negotiation process. According to him, this is due to the nature of military activity, the heating season and a number of other conditions.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with Foreign countries, head of the RDIF, held talks in Miami on December 20-21 with special envoy of the US President Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

On December 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin received Witkoff and Kushner in the Kremlin. Visit of US representatives to Russia was connected with the process of discussing the US peace plan for Ukraine. According to Putin, the American side divided 27 points into four packages and offered to discuss them separately.

Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov called the talks in the Kremlin very meaningful, adding that contacts between Russia and the United States will continue. At the same time, Ushakov noted that the successes of the Russian army on the battlefield had a positive impact on the course and nature of the negotiations.

Press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov also stated that the Kiev regime should make a decision and start negotiating, the space for freedom of decision-making by Kiev is reduced during offensive actions. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and this is precisely the coercion of the regime in Kiev to a peaceful resolution of the issue, and the continuation for Kiev is meaningless and dangerous.
