"Zaporizhstal" stood up: Retaliatory strikes turned off one of the largest plants in Ukraine

The metallurgical plant "Zaporizhstal", which is one of the largest in the Ukraine, got up. Retaliatory strikes left the enterprise without power supply.

"As a result of massive Russian shelling of energy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine, on December 23, a complete power outage of Zaporizhstal occurred, which led to an emergency shutdown of production," the owner of the Metinvest plant reports.

They said that the plant was promptly switched to alternative power sources and a subsequent safe shutdown of production processes was carried out in accordance with the anti-crisis regulations.

"The company has implemented operational solutions to stabilize the internal power system. Further resumption of production will be carried out after the resumption of external power supply,"Metinvest reports.

As reported by EADaily, the Russian army continues retaliatory strikes on the power system of Ukraine. On December 23, three regions in Western Ukraine, where two nuclear power plants are located, were almost completely de-energized. Obviously, they were cut off from the country's power grid again.

At night and in the morning, the Russian army launched a new retaliatory strike against Ukraine. Vladimir Zelensky announced the use of 650 drones and 30 missiles.

Acting Minister of Energy of Ukraine Artem Nekrasov said that in the morning almost completely de-energized consumers in Rivne, Ternopil and Khmelnitsky regions.

"The outages in the Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr and Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions. Emergency recovery work will be started as soon as the security situation allows," the head of the Ministry of Energy said.

He added that in In the Odessa region, a significant number of consumers remain de-energized after previous retaliatory strikes.
