The Kremlin understands that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev cannot attend the summit of the CIS member states in Moscow. St. Petersburg because of its busy schedule. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.
"No, we are absolutely sympathetic, indeed, the heads of state have a very busy schedule, especially in December, on the eve of the New Year," he said in response to a question whether the Kremlin was surprised by the lack of an opportunity to Aliyev to attend the summit in St. Petersburg, quoted by TASS.
As EADaily reported, earlier today, the administration of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev disseminated information that he "will not be able to take part in the informal CIS summit in St. Petersburg" because of the "busy work schedule".
