Turkish Air Force F-16 fighters shot down a UAV near the republic's airspace over the Black Sea, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense reported.
"A trace approaching our airspace was detected over the Black Sea, and tracking of it was started in accordance with routine procedures. In order to ensure the safety of airspace, our F-16 aircraft, which are under the control of NATO and national authorities, were tasked with emergency response. It was found that the air object is a UAV out of control, in order to avoid negative consequences, it was shot down in a safe area,"the report said.
