In Russian schools, it is necessary to exclude any control work on Thursdays, since the working capacity of students on this day of the week is sharply reduced.

This recommendation was made in a comment to RIA Novosti by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko.

According to him, the condition of children is affected by a certain weekly biorhythm, which is confirmed by scientifically sound data.

"Children have a certain weekly biorhythm. And we have always demanded that difficult subjects, such as, for example, mathematics, not be included in the school schedule on Thursday. And in no case should children write tests on Thursdays," the academician said.

He noted that the peak working capacity of students usually falls on the period from Monday to Wednesday. The daily distribution of forces is also important — in the morning, many children may have a reduced concentration of attention.

And at the end of the school day, fatigue accumulates. Therefore, according to Onishchenko, schools should not conduct tests in the first or last lessons.

"Based on these features, we have always recommended and even demanded that this be taken into account in school schedules for children," the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences emphasized.

As reported by EADaily, earlier Gennady Onishchenko proposed to change the definition of youth. In his opinion, modern people retain their health, efficiency and a high level of mental and physical activity for a long time.
