The police, accompanied by special forces, detained the new leader of the Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg on the evening of December 1. Ural (after Shahin Shykhlinski) — Vidadi Mustafayeva, reports E1.RU .
"He was detained at the entrance to the Iset tower, where he attended the elite Encore fitness club. OBOP worked accompanied by SOBR. According to preliminary data, he is suspected of fraud in the sale of a land plot," the publication quotes its source as saying.
The Yekaterinburg edition gives a description of the detainee:
"Vidadi Mustafayev became known after he criticized Shykhlinski for the poor integration of compatriots and the transformation of diasporas into a hotbed of crime and, after the arrest of the latter, declared himself as the new leader of the Azerbaijanis of the Urals. He himself also came to the attention of people in uniform: under the control of the security forces, he acted as an intermediary in transferring part of a bribe of several million rubles from the ex-mayor of Sredneuralsk, deputy Andrei Zashlyapin, to the FSB officer in the Sverdlovsk region (according to the deputy's defense, it was a loan, which was then recovered through the court). In this case, he eventually acted as a witness."
As EADaily reported, the detention of members of the Azerbaijani diaspora, citizens of Russia, in Yekaterinburg in June for involvement in murders committed in the 2000s, became one of the reasons for the crisis in relations between Moscow and Baku. Seven Azerbaijanis were arrested, two of them later died.
Shahin Shykhlinski's name appears in a criminal case against a group of Azerbaijanis from Yekaterinburg, accused of murders and assassination attempts in the 2000s. Shahin Shykhlinski is accused under part 3 of Article 30, paragraph z, part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder). He was placed in Pre-trial detention on August 4. His son Mutvaly Shyhlinsky was arrested on July 16 on charges of using violence against a government official.On July 1, during the arrest of Shyklinsky Sr., a young man hit a law enforcement officer with a car.
