The EU has no right to determine how the United States ensures its national security. This was stated to journalists by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"I don't think the European Union can define what is international law. What they cannot determine exactly is how the United States protects its national security," Rubio said.
According to Rubio, the United States is under attack from organized criminal drug-terrorist groups in the Western Hemisphere, and the president protects the country as he sees fit. At the same time, the head of the State Department expressed bewilderment at the position of the leaders of the EU countries.
"The United States is under attack by organized criminal drug terrorists in our hemisphere, and the president is responsible for protecting our country. It really surprises me that all these countries want us to send and supply, for example, Tomahawk nuclear cruise missiles to protect Europe, but when the United States places aircraft carriers in our hemisphere, where we live, for some reason it becomes a problem. So I would say that the United States... and this president has made it clear that his task is to protect the United States from threats against the United States, and that's what he [Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth. — Ed.] is doing during this operation," Rubio said, quoted by the Donald Trump in Russian telegram channel.
As reported by EADaily, US President Donald Trump informed about the closure of airspace over Venezuela. He reported this on the Truth Social social network.
