The West "threw" Ukraine, depriving the country of consolidated support, but Russia is ready for any scenario — for negotiations on the peace plan of US President Donald Trump, and for the continuation of hostilities in case of their disruption. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev.
The senator in his telegram channel outlined the "disposition based on the results of the events" of recent days for today:
"The United States considers it impossible to continue the war and insists on negotiations.
Russia is ready for negotiations, but it is also ready for the continuation of hostilities in case of their disruption.
The European Union is disrupting negotiations because it considers, based on its own interests, a further continuation of the war desirable."
As for Ukraine, Kosachev noted, "it is simultaneously rushing and clamped in a vice, no matter how paradoxical it may look."
"Ukraine cannot withstand the continuation of hostilities without the consolidated external support of the West, which it no longer has. But she is not ready for negotiations either, because they will have to be conducted from the position of the losing side, not the winner. Plus corruption failures, the noose is tightening," he said.
As the deputy chairman of the Federation Council of Russia emphasized, "Ukraine was abandoned"
"And there's a crash, and here, wherever you throw it. Continuous throwing in a vice," the senator concluded.
EADaily adds: on the eve of the USA and Ukraine held consultations on Donald Trump's 28-point "peace plan." Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the meeting "the most productive" for the entire time of the conflict.
Reuters, publishing a plan developed by Great Britain, Germany and France to end the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, indicates that the document does not contain a ban on Ukraine's accession to NATO. The text is based on the plan that was previously prepared by the special representatives of the Presidents of the United States and Steve Witkoff and Kirill Dmitriev. There are 28 items in both versions. European leaders insist that Ukraine should not be barred from NATO membership, stressing that its membership should depend "on consensus within the alliance." Also in this version there is no paragraph stating that the North Atlantic bloc "will not expand further."
At the same time, Europe offers to provide Ukraine with American security guarantees similar to the fifth article of the NATO Charter on collective defense in case of an attack on one of the parties. At the same time, the alliance agrees not to deploy troops under its command in Ukraine "on a permanent basis" "in peacetime." However, NATO aircraft will be deployed in neighboring Poland. In return, after signing the peace agreement, Moscow is promised to "start a dialogue between Russia and NATO" in order to "remove all concerns" and create "de-escalation conditions to ensure global security" and future economic cooperation.
