Friedrich Merz has restored relations with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, which were spoiled after the UN Climate Conference in Belen do Para. This is reported by the DPA agency, citing sources in the entourage of the German Chancellor.
It is noted that Merz had a conversation with Lula, during which he recommended restaurants to the Chancellor, which he could visit during his next visit to the Brazilian city.
"Lula... also talked about dances that he could try. The Chancellor replied: "Great, let's go dancing together next time."… They verbally hugged for 40 minutes ..." — said sources quoted by <url>.
Recall, during a speech in Berlin on his return from the UN Climate Conference, Merz said that he and his pool of journalists were glad to return to "beautiful" Germany. For this, the chancellor was criticized in Brazil.
