Moscow reacted positively to the appointment of US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll as the new special representative of President Donald Trump for Ukraine.
He shared his opinion on this with the publication Lenta.ru First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations Alexei Chepa.
According to him, this step by the US president testifies to his full confidence in Driscoll, who is primarily an "army man."
"This is an army man. He just led a delegation that came to Ukraine. They met with Zelensky, and he reported to him the Trump plan. I think this is due to the fact that Trump trusts this person to carry out his planned plans for Ukraine," Chepa said.
Earlier, information about the appointment of Driscoll as Trump's new special representative for Ukraine was distributed by The Guardian agency. Then the Fox News channel received similar information from a Pentagon spokesman.
As EADaily reported, Driscoll, already in his new capacity, will lead a group of American generals, who may fly to Moscow at the end of next week to discuss a peace plan with the Kremlin.
