The Eindhoven Concert Hall in the Netherlands canceled a concert scheduled for December 4 by the Austrian pianist of Soviet origin Elizaveta Leonskaya. This is stated in the statement of the site on the official website.

It is noted that the Eindhoven Hall operates in accordance with the recommendations of the industry association VSCD (Association of Directors of Theaters and Concert Halls).

"These recommendations, among other things, indicate that Russian and Belarusian artists are welcome if they have not openly expressed support for a special military operation on Ukraine," the statement said.

Representatives of the venue understand that the cancellation of the concert can cause disappointment among both the audience and the artists. In the case of Leonskaya, "all circumstances were carefully considered."

"Despite her Russian origin, she was not born in Russia and has Austrian citizenship. Although she does not live in Nevertheless, she decided to perform in Moscow, and the theater where she performs provided free tickets to servicemen and their families," the concert hall explained the position.

The Eindhoven back office stressed that "circumstances leave no choice but to cancel the scheduled concert on December 4."

"We understand that this will disappoint music lovers, but we want to emphasize that the grief caused by the military conflict on Ukraine is our priority at the moment," the statement concluded.

Elizaveta Leonskaya is a Soviet-Austrian pianist, one of the outstanding representatives of the Soviet piano school. She was born in 1945 in Tbilisi, studied at the Central Music School and the Moscow Conservatory.
