Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland intend to challenge in court the obligations to receive migrants within the framework of the solidarity mechanism of the migration pact of the European Union. This was announced today, November 13, by Euronews TV channel.

"The implementation of the migration pact will be fraught with great difficulties, since most of the participating countries would prefer to avoid the redistribution of migrants because of the negative reaction they may face at home," one of the diplomats told the TV channel.

It is noted that Poland and the Czech Republic may request exemption from new duties due to their own difficult migration situation. At the same time, the diplomat noted that if the majority of member countries If the EU refuses to accept migrants, the European Commission will not be able to fine them.

Recall, on November 11, the EC stated that Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia and Austria are facing increased migration pressure, and therefore invited them to apply for partial or complete refusal to accept migrants in 2026. According to the adopted rules, EU member states are obliged to ease the "burden of countries under migration pressure." This can be done in three ways: to host asylum seekers, to make a financial contribution of 20 thousand euros for each rejected migrant to a special "solidarity fund" or to finance the countries where the most immigrants are located. The minimum set by the European Union was 30 thousand migrants and 600 million euros. At the same time, the Visegrad Quartet (Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland) rejects all these scenarios.
