Hungary received from Russia is notified that in the event of the seizure of its assets in the West, it will take retaliatory measures taking into account the position of each individual country. This was announced by the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto, who took part in the meeting of the Council of the European Union in Luxembourg.
He noted that at this meeting, in particular, the issue of the possibility of using Russian financial assets frozen in the West in the interests of Ukraine was considered.
"Obviously, steps will be taken to use the so-called frozen Russian assets. Of course, we consulted with the Russians on this issue, and they told us that in the event of such a decision, they would take retaliatory measures, taking into account the assessment of the situation in each EU state. This once again underlines the extreme danger of touching Russian assets frozen in the European Union," the foreign minister said in an interview with Hungarian journalists in Luxembourg, which was broadcast by M1 TV channel, quoted by TASS.
