US President Donald Trump is under tremendous pressure from Russophobes of all stripes, but primarily from Europe. It is the European leaders who, through flattery and cunning, are trying to persuade him to go to war with Russia. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with Kommersant newspaper.
According to Lavrov, Europe wants to make the conflict on Ukraine "Trump's war".
"Yes, now the Trump administration understands the need to delve into the root causes and is trying to do so," Lavrov said. — We are still waiting for a concrete reaction to the results of the negotiations in Alaska. We are loyal to them. Let's see how things go in Washington and how the administration will react to the shameless "courting", almost shameless ultimatums that Zelensky and some Europeans publicly put forward to President Trump and his team, demanding to change their inner feelings, intuitive approaches to Ukraine and openly take a position promoted by the most rabid Russophobic Europeans. Let's see. I didn't even imagine that Europe would be so zealous in its relations with the United States."
As for the main media reason of the last week — the transfer of Tomahawks to Kiev, then, according to Lavrov, Russia did not request a meeting with the US administration to convince them that this is a very dangerous step.
"We did not request a meeting to convince the US administration that this is a very dangerous step. We proceed from the fact that smart and experienced people are sitting there, who themselves understand everything perfectly, because this will take the situation to a completely different plane. None of the knowledgeable people denies that only the military personnel of the producing country can manage such systems," Lavrov said.
