Olympic gymnastics champion David Belyavsky said he would not take part in international competitions in Indonesia in a neutral status.
From October 19 to October 25 in Jakarta will host the World Gymnastics Championships, where Russians and Belarusians will have to perform in a neutral status.
"I made such a decision that while we do not have a flag, we will not perform in the international arena," Belyavsky told TASS.
"But of course I will watch the World Cup in Indonesia," the athlete continued. — Because our athletes will perform there. Of course, I will cheer for them, worry about them, watch how they look on the international stage. After all, this is very important for them and for our team as a whole."
