The Afghan Air Force attacked the Pakistani city of Lahore after armed clashes on the border. This is reported by the Tolo News news portal.

"Local sources reported that tonight the Super Tucano fighters of the Taliban Air Force attacked positions in the Pakistani city of Lahore. According to eyewitnesses, explosions were heard in some areas of eastern Lahore, and fires broke out in several places," the portal's telegram channel says.

It is noted that Taliban officials have not yet clarified the details of the operation and the purpose of the attack, but military sources said that this step was taken in response to recent attacks by Pakistan.

Tonight, heavy fighting began on the Afghan-Pakistani border along the entire Durand line. Five Pakistani soldiers were killed in the clashes, the portal writes.

Fierce fighting is taking place in the provinces of Kunar, Nangarhar and Helmand. The Taliban attacked Pakistani border positions from several directions, the Pakistanis retreated in some areas.

"Local sources in the south of the country reported that two Pakistani military bases collapsed as a result of attacks by Taliban forces. According to reports, the Taliban attacked the positions of the Pakistani army on the other side of the border from the border areas of Kandahar province and took control of two Pakistani military bases. The Taliban forces also conducted operations in Pakistan... from the province of Zabul," the portal adds.

News sources report airstrikes in the Afghan provinces of Helmand, Khost and Nangarhar (Jalalabad), the portal adds. "According to reports, Pakistani media claim that the attacks were carried out by the Pakistani army, but so far no official Afghan or Pakistani source has confirmed this news," the note says.

It is also reported that in the districts of the city of Parachinar in Pakistan has declared a red status due to an increase in the number of victims in hospitals.

Later, the Taliban Defense Ministry announced that the group's forces conducted a "retaliation operation" along the Durand Line in response to repeated violations of Afghan airspace and Pakistani airstrikes. The operation ended at midnight local time and was successful, the statement said.
