The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not support the initiative to nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. This is reported by the publication "Время.иа ".
Only 132 parliamentarians voted in favor, with the required minimum of 226.
"The resolution provided for a proposal to the Nobel Committee to consider Trump's candidacy for the prize "for his contribution to the de—escalation of international conflicts and the promotion of peace initiatives," the newspaper writes.
On the eve of the Rada meeting, deputies Anna Skorokhod and Nikolay Tishchenko called on colleagues to support the appeal.
The authors of the draft resolution are deputies from the group "Restoration of Ukraine" Alexander Yurchenko and Anatoly Burmich, as well as from the group "For the Future" Anna Skorokhod, Anatoly Urbansky and Taras Batenko.
