The European Commission (EC) has received a letter signed by the Ministries of Economy of Italy and Germany, which require urgent changes in EU policy. Details are given by the publication Gazeta.PL .
"We are at a turning point. Today marks a new stage for European industry," said Adolfo Urso, Minister of Companies and Manufacturing of Italy.
"Italy and Germany jointly urge The EC will immediately change course with regard to the automotive industry, showing responsibility, pragmatism and foresight. By taking a common and clear position, we are pointing the way to a green transformation that will be truly sustainable from an environmental, social and economic point of view and free from the ideological framework of the Green Agreement," he added.
And the Urso outrage has a long history. Complaints in October 2025 are no longer news
"The EU must act quickly to reverse the ongoing industrial crisis, which threatens to worsen next year, as evidenced by the serious crises in the automotive and steel industries. There is an urgent need for an effective industrial policy that will allow our system to take a central place in global production chains," Adolfo Urso said in 2023 during the signing of a bilateral German—Italian agreement based on concern for industry, especially automotive.
Two years later, two European countries are even more aware of the need for change to save this sector, which is crucial for their economies.
