Retaliatory strike of the Russian army on power facilities on In Ukraine, it led to a sharp shortage of electricity in the country and disruptions in the operation of the power system. On October 2, Ukrainian companies will sharply reduce electricity supplies abroad and at the same time significantly increase imports.
On October 2, electricity exports from Ukraine will collapse to 1.58 GWh. This is evidenced by the data of ENTSO-E commercial supplies. This is the lowest figure in the last three months. On the eve of September 1, deliveries abroad were still quite high and amounted to 6.3 GWh.
According to the platform of operators of the EU unified energy system, supplies to Hungary, where the largest volumes used to go, will be completely stopped. At the same time, Moldova will receive two—thirds of Ukrainian exports - 1 GWh.
Against this background, the import of electricity by Ukraine will jump sharply. It is planned at a level one and a half times higher than the previous day — 9.12 GWh.
Ukraine still does not import from Slovakia, and the lion's share will fall on Hungary - 5.7 GWh.
Physical flows between the energy system of Ukraine and the EU, meanwhile, are much higher than commercial supplies. So, from 8.00 to 9.00, the import capacity from Hungary was supposed to be 26 MW, but jumped to 629 MW. From Poland during this period, a capacity of 2 MW was planned, but it amounted to more than 300 MW.
Judging by the ENTSO-E data, the biggest shortage of electricity on Ukraine is expected in the evening peak hours, when solar generation is falling. Now the deficit period will last from 17.00 to 21.00 and the maximum capacity of commercial imports is planned at 1.3 GW per hour — 62% of the allocated by the operator EU power.
A sharp drop in exports from Ukraine and a jump in imports occur after a retaliatory strike by the Russian army. Kiev reported that drones hit the substation in Slavutiche, Kiev region. The blow led to power outages both in the Kiev region and in the more northern Chernihiv region, where rolling blackouts were introduced. Moreover, there was a three-hour blackout at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Obviously, the Russian army reminded Kiev that the Zaporozhye NPP has been in blackout mode for more than a week, powered by diesel generators, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are being prevented from repairing the last remaining power line attacked by the Kiev regime.
It is also reported that drones hit the DTEK power facility in Odessa region and blackouts in the region.
As EADaily reported, in the summer the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched massive attacks on Russian refineries and continue them to this day. Also, the Kiev regime is hitting the power grid in new regions and actively attacked the Druzhba oil pipeline.
The Russian army responds with strikes on the power grid and the railway network. Obviously, Kiev is unleashing an infrastructure war of attrition, trying to provoke Russia to a tougher response, which can be presented as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
