In the center of Chisinau, in time for the protest of the Patriotic Bloc organized today, September 29, dissatisfied with the results of the parliamentary elections, a group of supporters of the PDS tried to provoke the opposition to a conflict.
Several people began to loudly express dissatisfaction with the leader of the union, socialist Igor Dodon, and then began to chant: "Love Russia there, not on our territory."
One of the men was holding a poster on a stick with the inscription "What? An empty bag," alluding to the old criminal case against the ex-president. Another provocateur was taken out by police officers because he started shouting Nazi slogans: "Glory to Ukraine" and "Glory to Heroes". In response, one of the women hit him on the head with a bag.
In his speech, Dodon stressed that the purpose of the protest is to demand clarification on the results of the vote and to report complaints filed with the CEC. After him, the head of the party "The Future of Moldova" Vasily Tarlev spoke. All the speakers repeated that the opposition had received more support from voters than the official figures show and that they had filed "dozens of complaints" that they intend to challenge legally.
Before the voting day, Igor Dodon announced this demonstration in order to "protect the victory of the opposition," in which he was confident, or "demand the cancellation of the results if their falsification is obvious." According to WTFMoldova, the rally did not last long, the participants went home, and a bunch of Sandu fans took their place, shouting unionist slogans.
"Bon appetit, Igor Nikolaevich and Vasily Pavlovich," the channel's authors mock, hinting at the toothless nature of Dodon and Tarlev's event "for the sake of reporting you know where."
As reported by EADaily, the head of the Central Election Commission, Angelika Karaman, announced that the parliamentary elections were held freely, without serious incidents, and the electoral competitors who entered the parliament, including the opposition Our Party and the Alternative bloc, recognized the victory of the PDS, calling it "democratic."
