Former assistant to former US President Joe Biden Tara Reid received Russian citizenship. The corresponding decree was signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The document is published on the official government portal of legal information. Recall that Reed worked as an assistant to Joe Biden, when he was a senator from Delaware.
In 2020, during the US election campaign, she accused Mr. Biden of harassment allegedly committed in the 1990s. He denies all charges.
Fearing persecution, Tara moved to Russia in 2023, began to learn Russian and began to seek a Russian passport. The newly minted Russian told about her feelings in a comment to RT.
"Moving to Russia was a forced step for me, but then I fell in love with her so much that now I want to stay," Reed said.
She also expressed gratitude to Maria Butina and Margarita Simonyan for showing her the "way to refuge" when Tara and her family were in danger.
"It is a great honor for me to be a Russian citizen," concluded Biden's former assistant.
As EADaily reported, in May last year, American journalist Tucker Carlson published on his website an interview with Tara Reid, which he recorded during his visit to Russia. She said she was afraid of persecution, but would continue to ensure that Biden was held accountable for his actions.
