Bloody anti-migrant protests are not abating in the Dutch Hague. Burning police cars, attacks with cobblestones on special forces, broken windows in the headquarters of the pro—migrant party - this is what the capital of the "European garden" looks like today.
The hatred of thousands of Dutch people is directed at one of the most radical liberalism in Europe, the D66 party (Democrats 66), so named because it was created back in 1966. Initially, a peaceful demonstration demanding tougher asylum policies turned into chaos, vandalism and violent clashes with the police. The protesters broke windows in the D66 headquarters, burned police cars and rushed to the special forces. The security forces, according to the old European tradition, used water cannons and tear gas.
Acting Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof called it "completely unacceptable" that rioters attacked police officers.
"Demonstrations are always allowed, but violence is unacceptable," Schoof wrote on his microblog.
In turn, Frans Timmermans from the Labor Party believes that the riots are "Trump stuff." According to Geert Wilders from The Freedom Party, the rebels must be dealt with "ruthlessly."
"Road closures and violence against the police are completely unacceptable. Idiots," Wilders commented.
Coalition partner Caroline van der Plas described the rioters as "scum".
