The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, demands that US President Donald Trump outline a clear position on a package of anti-Russian sanctions and security guarantees for Ukraine in order to put an end to the Ukrainian conflict. This is reported by Sky News channel.
In an exclusive interview with Sky News, Zelensky said that the only way to stop the fighting is to first introduce certain security guarantees. According to him, this can only happen if Trump is bold.
Zelensky hopes that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will tell Trump in detail about how to ensure Ukraine's security for the future during the American leader's visit to London.
"I really hope that he (Starmer. — EADaily) will be able to have a very specific discussion about US security guarantees for Ukraine… Before we end the war, I really want all the agreements to be concluded. I want... to have a document that is supported by the United States and all European partners. This is very important. For this to happen, we need a clear position of President Trump," said the head of the Kiev regime.
He also urged Trump to take "decisive personal steps" to "stop Putin," after the US leader called on NATO allies to stop buying Russian oil and impose tariffs on China.
"I believe that the United States is strong enough to make its own decisions. I believe that Donald Trump can give us air defense systems in quantity, and the United States has enough of them. I am sure that the United States can apply enough sanctions to harm the Russian economy, plus Donald Trump has enough power to make Putin afraid of him. Europe has already introduced 18 sanctions packages against Russia. And all that is missing now is a strong sanctions package from the United States," Zelensky listed his demands to the United States.
The Ukrainian leader also sharply criticized the results of the meeting between Putin and Trump in Alaska.
"I think if it had been a trilateral meeting [with Ukraine], we would have had some result," he said.
