In a St. Petersburg restaurant on the Veteran landing stage, the founders of which are restaurateur Anton Pinsky and scandalous journalist Ksenia Sobchak, the police detained five visitors on suspicion of drug use. This was reported today, September 1, RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region.

As noted in the department, employees of the drug control department of the police headquarters received information that the leisure time of the participants of the closed event in one of the city's fashionable restaurants on the weekend will be accompanied by the consumption and sale of prohibited substances.

"In the midst of the party, the doors of the banquet hall opened: operatives, dog handlers and employees of the special police regiment of the GUMVD of Russia entered the room. A mobile medical examination point was waiting for the audience on the street," the press service said.

The release clarifies that at the sight of the police, an elderly couple, a 60-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man, "threw off" 2 bags of cocaine. The police managed to fix it. Two more packages with marijuana were in the sock of a 22-year-old from St. Petersburg. He also tried to get rid of the "forbidden", but did not have time — the operatives intercepted his hand with the clamped drugs. All three were detained and taken to the police department, and the substances found with them were seized and sent for examination.

Two more capsules, a sachet and a plastic bottle with narcotic substances were found by the police in the restrooms and lobby of the restaurant. The medical examination point recorded signs of drug intoxication in two party guests, a 28-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman. They were also taken to the police and brought to administrative responsibility under Article 6.9 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances without a doctor's prescription or new potentially dangerous psychoactive substances).

According to the revealed facts of drug trafficking, the police have initiated criminal cases under Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, procedural actions are being carried out with the detainees.
