After the oil leak at the offshore terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, the loading of tankers was transferred to loading from one device out of three. But they managed to launch another one in a matter of days.

"VPU-3 has been put into operation at the CPC marine terminal after repair," the consortium reports. They noted that the planned preventive maintenance on the remote berthing device of the CPC-3 VPU has been completed.

"After successfully conducted hydro-tests, the remote berthing device of the CPC—3 VPU was put into operation," the statement said.

The day before, on August 29, during the loading of the tanker, an oil leak occurred and the second remote mooring device was disabled. The third one has been under scheduled preventive maintenance since August 15.

Now tankers receive oil from two devices.

The CPC pipeline system and the consortium's marine terminal near Novorossiysk are the main export route for Kazakh oil.
