Convicted singer and blogger Eduard Charlotte was transferred from a penal colony to a general regime colony. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the Samara region in the telegram channel.
The idea of transferring Charlotte was made by the administration of the correctional institution, which was supported by the Togliatti prosecutor's office.
"During the period of serving the sentence, the convict violated the regime requirements and set up other convicts to negatively directed behavior, for which he was repeatedly brought to disciplinary responsibility," the supervisory authority said in a statement.
The Central District Court of Togliatti, taking into account the opinion of the prosecutor, satisfied the submission of the colony-settlement and sent Charlotte to serve his sentence in a general regime colony.
As EADaily reported, in December last year, the Samara regional court found Charlotte guilty under part 4 of Article 354.1 (dissemination of information expressing obvious disrespect for society about the days of military glory and memorable dates of Russia related to the defense of the Fatherland, as well as desecration of symbols of military glory of Russia, insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, committed publicly, using information- telecommunication networks, including the Internet) and under Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public actions expressing obvious disrespect for society and committed in order to offend the religious feelings of believers).
At the same time, the criminal prosecution under part 1 of Article 325, paragraph "a" of part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (damage to documents, as well as incitement of hatred or enmity) was terminated due to the refusal of the state prosecutor to charge due to the absence of corpus delicti in the actions of the accused.
On April 15 of this year, the Fourth Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Nizhny Novgorod upheld Charlotte's sentence of 5.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony.
In April of this year, Charlotte was excluded from the list of citizens about whom there is evidence of their involvement in extremist activities or terrorism.
Later it was reported that Charlotte is in the colony-settlement No. 1 Togliatti. He was engaged in the restoration of the Russian passport, which he had previously burned.
