On the eve of US President Donald Trump's meeting in Washington with European leaders and the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Vladimir Dzhabarov, has "not the most favorable forecast for Western Russophobes."
First of all, the senator stressed, in Alaska, our country brought its positions to Trump, and, apparently, Washington accepted them. First of all, it should not be about a temporary truce, but a long-term peace.
Secondly, it is already obvious to everyone today that Russia is fighting on the Ukraine with all the countries that sponsor this nationalist regime. Otherwise, why would they rush to Washington with Zelensky right after the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump? Neutral states do not behave like this, Dzhabarov noted.
"Third, the US president will be more circumspect, bearing in mind the hysteria and skirmish that the head of the Kiev regime staged in the Oval Office last time. But even if Zelensky is more patient, the result for him is likely to be negative. Fourth, Ukrainians will reject everything, especially on issues of territorial concessions. They live with the feeling of winners in the confrontation with Russia, and not losers, who they really are — the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering one defeat after another," the senator said.
All this, according to Dzhabarov, looks both ridiculous and disgusting.
"Following the former comedian, posing as an independent leader, there is a retinue of more than ten people who control him like a puppet. But I am sure that as soon as Trump bangs his fist on the table, all the "formidable" Europeans will "change their shoes" in five minutes," Dzhabarov said.
EADaily reported that Trump announced a "big day" at the White House today, August 18. According to him, "there have never been so many European leaders in the American capital at the same time." Zelensky has already arrived in Washington. Together with him, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni, head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will meet with the American leader.
