Dmitriev reacted to Trump's words about the "big day" in the White House on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump and his team are striving for a real settlement of the conflict on Ukraine, said one of the negotiators, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for economic cooperation with foreign countries Kirill Dmitriev on the eve of the meeting of the US president with European leaders.

"Trump and his team are seeking a real solution. May the solution of problems and peace win on this big day," he wrote on Twitter, responding to the publication of the White House page transmitting the words of the American leader about the upcoming meeting with the heads of European states.

Earlier in Truth Social, Trump wrote that August 18 would be a "big day" for the White House, since such a large number of European leaders had never visited the residence of the US president at the same time.

After meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15, Trump had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Zelensky, and then with the leaders of Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland and France, the NATO Secretary General and the head of the European Commission.

Later, Zelensky said that he was going to discuss with Trump "details on ending the conflict" today in Washington. Together with him, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni will go to a meeting with the American leader. The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, also announced her plans to take part in the meeting.
