On the eve of the Russian-American summit in Alaska, the troops of the Kiev regime launched a number of unsuccessful counterattacks in the Sumy direction, where they suffered heavy losses.
This was reported on Saturday, August 16 by RIA Novosti, citing a source in Russian law enforcement agencies. According to him, many Ukrainian militants died just to make a propaganda video about the capture of the settlement.
"The enemy has made two unsuccessful attempts to attack in the area of Novokonstantinovka (Pershe Travnya) and Alekseevka. During the reflection, up to 70% of the enemy assault groups' manpower, two armored combat vehicles and an armored personnel carrier were destroyed," the agency's interlocutor said.
The Russian military said that the 225th separate Assault Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received an order "to seize the settlement at any cost and provide video to confirm the statements of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
Earlier, EADaily reported that the troops of the Kiev regime tried to organize a "peremoga" on Pokrovsky direction. Enemy units tried to cut off the ledge north of Rodinsky, throwing their best units "pack by pack" to the assault.
