SMO's goals are achieved by military means — it is irrational to count on the help of US President Donald Trump, said Russian State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin, commenting on the upcoming talks in Alaska.
"There continues to be some kind of irrational idea that as a result of such a meeting we will achieve the support of the United States in the implementation of all our goals SMO. SMO's goals are achieved militarily. If we are currently far from Odessa or Kiev, and we can hardly count on being able to release them in the remaining few days, I have no such doubts, no one will give us such gifts just like that," PolitNavigator quotes the deputy.
As Zautlin noted, Moscow is able to dispose of what it controls today and will not make any concessions regarding the territory that is already under our control.
"We will not surrender anyone, neither in Zaporozhye, nor in Kherson, nor in the DPR, nor in the LPR. But it seems to me that it would be very naive to expect that we will realize all SMO goals as a result of Trump's meeting with Putin," the deputy said.
However, people who believe that we should endlessly fight with Ukraine, "and until we reach the border with Poland, we should not stop," in fact, play along with Europe, which disrupts any peace agreements in the expectation that we will fight forever, Zatulin added.
