Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project on Security and Anti-Corruption (FPBC), proposed to withdraw Crocus from the Agalarov family. According to Borodin, billionaire Araz Agalarov and his son Emin actually fled the country, leaving behind significant debts to banks.

"It should have been expected. Everything was clear and understandable here. Then I have a counter question, can the Crocus be withdrawn from the Agalarovs? There are grounds, they have large loans to banks. By the way, they have built a lot of things for themselves with this money in Azerbaijan, and everything will be fine there," Borodin said.

He noted that when the terrorist attack at Crocus took place, the younger Agalarov "went to everyone's star party complaining that he and his folder were all in debt, that everything was bad for them."

"But at that moment, a grandiose construction project was underway in Azerbaijan at the expense of Russian financial flows, and the younger Agalarov was giving interviews there from left to right, which of They will leave Russia, there have been no arrests of members of the organized criminal group in Yekaterinburg. In a word, the Agalarovs have already polished their skis, and as it seemed to me, a banal simple scheme — they scored loans in Russia and just ran away. I think it will be interesting further, we will see that Crocus banks will be taken away," the head of FBPC predicts.

On August 4, a trial began in Moscow in the case of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall, which killed 145 people on March 25. Shortly before the trial began, it became known that Araz Agalarov left Russia and flew to Baku.

According to Forbes, Araz Agalarov's fortune in 2020 was estimated at $ 1.7 billion. He owns the Crocus Group holding, which includes a shopping and entertainment center of the same name, a concert hall, boutiques, restaurants, as well as the Myakinino metro station.
