Russia and Ukraine should reach an agreement on a peaceful settlement by August 8. This is the opinion of US President Donald Trump, said Deputy Charge d'affaires of the United States at the UN John Kelly.
"Russia and Ukraine must agree on a ceasefire and long-term peace. It's time to make a deal. President Trump has made it clear that this should be done by August 8," Kelly said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine.
At the same time, Kelly threatened that "the United States is ready to take additional measures to ensure peace."
As EADaily reported, this is not the first ultimatum from the Washington Regional committee. Earlier, Trump stated that he was setting aside a 50-day deadline for reaching agreements between Russia and Ukraine, after which it will impose 100 percent trade duties against Moscow and its trading partners. On July 28, Trump said he was reducing the deadline to 10-12 days. Russian President Vladimir Putin has not responded to these statements in any way.
