Israeli actor Alon Abutbul, known for Christopher Nolan's film The Dark Knight Rises and the cult TV series Twin Peaks, has died at the age of 61. This is reported by the Israeli portal maco.

According to the publication, the actor died on the famous Israeli beach, which is located on the territory of the Ha-bonim reserve. After swimming, the actor went ashore, after which he lost consciousness. When the doctors who were at the scene tried to carry out resuscitation, but the artist could not be saved. The exact cause of death will be determined based on the results of a forensic medical examination, but it is known that recently Abutbul complained of feeling unwell.

The actor starred in many feature films and television projects, is the owner of the so—called Israeli Oscar - the Ophir Award.
