The Knesset of Israel voted for the annexation of the West Bank of the Jordan River, justifying it with a historical and spiritual right, Israel National News reports.
A resolution stating that these territories are Judea and Samaria — an integral part of the historical, cultural and spiritual homeland of the Jewish people, was adopted by a majority of 71 votes of Knesset deputies.
The West Bank of the Jordan River (including East Jerusalem), according to the decision of the UN Security Council of 1947, was to become part of Arab Palestine. In 1948-1967 it was annexed by Jordan, since 1967 by Israel.
Israeli media claim that this step "will not have specific consequences."
