The enemy of my enemy: why Baku tolerates the killing of Azerbaijanis on Ukraine?

There is an old saying: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Azerbaijan, after the Russian security forces carried out a sweep of the organized criminal group of ethnic Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg, not only unleashed a wild propaganda campaign aimed at denigrating the Russian leadership, but also sharply intensified "friendship" with Ukraine.

A high-level call was immediately organized with all possible assurances of support for each other, then within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, Azerbaijani gas supplies were planned to Ukraine and its transit to Europe, as well as loading gas into Ukrainian underground storage facilities without taxes and fees. Also, "we agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of mine clearance," and on July 11, a delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Musa-Bek Rafiev took part in a conference on the "restoration" of Ukraine in Rome.

And suddenly, with such friendship, such a bummer: the SBU allegedly killed Azerbaijani citizens Narmin Guliyeva and Hagani Gulalyzade, "associated with criminal structures in the Russian Federation" and accused of eliminating SBU Colonel Ivan Voronich, while trying to detain. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, according to logic, should have already confirmed or denied the citizenship of the dead and explained whether they had articles of the Criminal Code in Azerbaijan or the Russian Federation, but the Foreign Ministry is silent.

After a pause, a version was launched in Azerbaijani social networks that "terrorism has no nationality, therefore it is necessary to extinguish such scum on the spot without trial and investigation." But here's the problem, the question arose, why, when in Two bandits were killed in Russia, and everyone in Azerbaijan came to their defense?

The second Azerbaijani version says that the FSB allegedly used its cell of agents in order to spoil the rapidly developing relations between Kiev and Baku. Only it is necessary to prove it, and the agents are killed. Moreover, the photo shows that they are not armed, and the woman did not pose any danger at all.

There is another version that allegedly there are also agents of the Russian special services in the SBU, and they killed Azerbaijanis during detention so that Baku would turn away from Kiev. By the way, it looks very much like the truth.

If official Baku keeps silent, it will indicate that the escalation of relations with Moscow on the issue of the liquidation of the organized criminal group in Yekaterinburg is a custom—made story. In this case, it doesn't matter if it's Turkish or British. It is important that the anti—Russian campaign is aimed at squeezing the Russian Federation out of the South Caucasus.

The Kremlin will respond painfully, because history stretches from the attack on strategic bombers on July 1 with the help of drones with strings to the Azerbaijani organized criminal groups. Naturally, the head of the linear police department at Nizhny Novgorod airport, Namig Musaev, was arrested as part of a criminal investigation into the organization of an illegal migration channel. Operations have also been carried out to detain ethnic Azerbaijanis in Leningrad, Moscow, Tver, Orenburg and other regions, ranging from thieves in law and corrupt officials in business, ending with leaders of the diaspora.

Also, Moscow will not forgive the bullying of its citizens, who were demonstratively beaten and humiliated in Azerbaijan, accused of drug trafficking. There will be a quiet squeezing of Azerbaijanis out of business in the Russian Federation, imports will be closed, which will lead to a loss of serious income. Moscow will withdraw from integration projects with Azerbaijan, from the same North—South corridor, having found alternative ways.

If you look at the map, you can clearly see that Azerbaijan is geographically sandwiched between Russia and Iran. With Iran at Baku also has a lot of problems, they know that Israeli UAVs were flying to bomb from the territory of Azerbaijan. Therefore, it is dangerous to dig into the escalation of Baku.
