Washington's further steps towards Moscow and Kiev will be dictated by the conclusions of US President Donald Trump on new ideas exchanged today by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This was stated by State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce.
"And of course, we will see that he (Trump. — Ed.) will say," Bruce noted.
She refused to elaborate on the details of the diplomatic meeting between Rubio and Lavrov.
As EADaily reported, a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio took place in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur today, it lasted a little less than an hour. This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of ASEAN events. As stated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties confirmed "a mutual attitude to search for peaceful solutions to conflict situations." The situation around Ukraine, as well as the situation in Iran and Syria were discussed. Lavrov and Rubio also held a "reconciliation of positions on the entire bilateral agenda and a number of international issues."
