A police officer was detained on suspicion of arson of energy infrastructure facilities in Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Region. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region.
"In the city of Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Region, a suspect in the arson of energy infrastructure facilities was detained red-handed. It turned out to be a transport police officer, a police sergeant," the report said.
According to the agency, the man was under the influence of telephone scammers who had previously convinced him to transfer 800 thousand rubles to them.
The employee will be dismissed on negative grounds and will be punished.
