Nigeria received thousands of units of Belarusian equipment. This was reported in the press service of the Government of Belarus.
It is reported that the solemn transfer took place during the visit to Nigeria of a government delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich.
"The red ribbon has been cut — Belarus handed a symbolic key to the Nigerian president as a sign that the first stage of the roadmap has been completed. And the head of the African state said that this is just the beginning. Viktor Karankevich also conveyed to the President of Nigeria the invitation of our President to visit Belarus, and Bola Tinubu accepted it," the government's press service said.
According to Karankevich, the incident is an important event in the history of bilateral relations between the two countries.
"The official transfer of Belarusian equipment took place as part of the implementation of the roadmap signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Nigeria and the Government of Belarus. The roadmap is already producing results. Today's event is a significant contribution to strengthening Nigeria's food security, improving the well—being and well—being of citizens," he stressed.
Belarus has been under tough sanctions from Western countries since 2020. In this regard, Minsk is intensively developing cooperation with the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
