A music festival in a multitude of French cities called Fête de la Musique has been overshadowed by reports from more than 100 women and girls about mysterious attacks with syringes. The police arrested the first suspects.
According to the French Ministry of the Interior, 145 women from all over the country filed complaints, including 21 women in Paris. At the moment, twelve suspects between the ages of 19 and 44 have been arrested. It remains unclear what exactly was in the syringes, as the results of toxicological tests are not yet available. However, according to the Parisien newspaper, some of the injured women complained of feeling unwell.
Journalists suggest that in this way the attackers sought to "disconnect" the victim in order to further rape. It is possible that migrants are doing this.
