Israel has appealed to the United States to join the war with Iran, the Axios portal reports, citing two Israeli officials.
"Over the past 48 hours, Israel has appealed to the administration (of US President Donald Trump) Trump with a request to join the war with Iran in order to eliminate its nuclear program," the publication on the portal's website says.
According to one of the interlocutors of Axios, the United States can join the operation against Iran if necessary, and Trump offered such assistance to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in one of the recent conversations with him.
Axios notes, citing an Israeli official, that the United States is studying this request. The portal emphasizes with reference to another American official that the Trump administration is not currently considering the possibility of entering into a conflict.
