In Narva, Estonia, an appeal appeared on one of the buildings in the form of a projection to the city authorities on the Day of the Russian Language against the background of the upcoming ban on its teaching in schools and kindergartens. The video of the projection is rapidly spreading on social networks.
"Do you want to ban the majestic, mighty, multifaceted, harmonious, eternal, literary, unique Russian language?" the authors of the projection ask.
This is followed by an obscene, capacious synonym for the idea that no one will succeed.
According to the mayor of the Russian border town of Ivangorod, Yuri Parshin, most likely, the video was simply generated by a neural network.
"If there was this inscription, the residents would have recorded it on their phones. We do not have such videos in "eavesdropping". So it's a fake. We have a renovated embankment, people walk almost half the night, especially young people, so such things would be noticeable," he told the publication "Rise".
As EADaily reported, in mid-May, the Estonian government banned teaching Russian in schools and kindergartens in Narva, which is 90% Russian-speaking city. According to the assessment of the government commission, teaching and upbringing in Russian allegedly does not meet the interests of people.
The government is confident that the final transition of kindergartens and schools to Estonian-language education is in the public interest, and city educational institutions have enough time to completely rebuild to teach exclusively Estonian.
Prior to that, the country's Prime Minister, Kaya Kallas, called for speaking exclusively in Estonian and not switching immediately to Russian, even if it is not native to the interlocutor.
