U.S. Ambassador to Tom Barrack told Ankara that Turkey could manage to organize a quadrilateral meeting of the leaders of the United States, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine to achieve real results in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. In this regard, the diplomat noted in an interview with NTV that US President Donald Trump "has run out of patience."
"President Trump has run out of patience. In general, it cannot be said that he is very patient. With the inclusion of Turkey in the process and the elimination of a number of issues, a summit meeting may take place. And I think we can find a solution to the problem that suits everyone," the ambassador said.
The diplomat added that "the summit should be meaningful."
"The decisions taken at it should be effective and contain security guarantees. Turkey can help narrow down the range of issues that leaders will need to discuss in order to find a reasonable solution for all parties," Barrak stressed.
In connection with the talks held on June 2 in Istanbul between the delegations of Russia and The Ambassador of Ukraine noted that, in his opinion, "Turkey can play a key role."
"These senseless wars are a disaster for all of us. Turkey has a tradition of cooperation with Russia and Ukraine, which allows it to build an important dialogue," the diplomat said, quoted by TASS.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he would like to organize a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky on Turkish territory and allowed US President Donald Trump to participate in it. He also said that he would make efforts to organize such a summit.
