The Prime Minister of Slovakia replied to the German Chancellor: No one has the right to threaten us

The statements of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz about the possible tightening of the approach to Slovakia and Hungary if they continue to block decision-making by the European Union are unacceptable. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated this today, May 27, during his visit to Armenia.

"What the Chancellor said is unacceptable in modern Europe. No one can threaten us that if we don't listen, they will bring order to us," he said.

At the same time, Fico noted that the policy of a single binding opinion is a denial of sovereignty and democracy and is as dangerous for Europe as the Third World War.

"I don't see anything in the practical policy of the Slovak Republic that could be called a violation of the rule of law," Fico said and added that he was ready for a dialogue and a meeting with Merz.

Slovakia and Hungary have their own point of view on a number of issues on the international agenda, primarily related to Ukraine.
