US President Donald Trump said he was saddened by the news about the prostate cancer discovered by former head of state Joe Biden. He wrote about this in his social network Truth Social.
"Melania and I are saddened by the news of Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes (to Biden's wife) Jill and her family, and we wish Joe a speedy and successful recovery," the post says.
The New York Times reported on the diagnosis the day before, citing a representative of Biden. He said that the former president was found to have an aggressive form of prostate cancer, but it is treatable.
Biden is 82 years old — he was the oldest US president at the time of leaving office. In July 2024, he withdrew from the presidential race, one of the reasons for this decision was health problems.
