33 foreigners have been expelled from Georgia as a result of complex measures carried out by the security forces in recent days.
According to the Interior Ministry, some of them left the country voluntarily, and some were forcibly expelled. In accordance with the current legislation, the expelled persons were prohibited from re-entering the country.
"Citizens of the following countries were expelled from Georgia: India, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Pakistan, China, Iran, Bangladesh, Iraq, Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan — a total of 33 people," the report said.
The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the body responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its competencies is to identify foreign citizens who are on the territory of Georgia without legal grounds and organize their expulsion, the Interior Ministry added.
