The Kiev regime tried to turn the talks in Istanbul into a show. This was stated at a briefing at the Sputnik Kyrgyzstan press center by Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-large Rodion Miroshnik.
He recalled that the negotiations dragged on for a day. Meanwhile, according to him, third countries support Moscow's desire for a peaceful settlement.
"At the same time, we see attempts by the other side to turn the pragmatic, working process of negotiating into a kind of show. This attempt to go into the format of events that are closer to Zelensky failed. As a result, Ukraine announced that it had formed a group of negotiators," Miroshnik said.
He noted that the Russian Federation is open to a serious and thorough discussion in order to find ways to resolve the conflict.
"We have created all the conditions. How it will be further depends to a large extent on the Ukrainian side, on how serious the directives were received by its representatives, how seriously they are ready for negotiations," Miroshnik further said.
As previously reported, on Thursday, May 15, a meeting of the delegations of Russia and The meeting of Ukraine in Istanbul did not take place due to the fact that representatives of Kiev did not arrive. Negotiations were postponed to Friday.
