Grigory Shavrin, the son of People's Artist of Russia, singer Ekaterina Shavrina, convicted of drug trafficking, died in a penal colony in the Vladimir region. This is reported by RBC with reference to the chairman of the Public Supervisory Commission (PMC) of the region Sergey Yazhan.
According to him, according to the preliminary version, the convict had heart problems.
"It seems to be with his heart. It seems to have been said so far, but in fact there will only be an examination and after that there will be all the final conclusions. For example, he has never addressed us to the public supervisory commission," the PMC head noted.
According to RIA Novosti, 59-year-old Shavrin died on the evening of May 11. An inspection is being carried out on this fact. According to preliminary data, there are no signs of a criminal nature of death.
Shavrin was detained last year. Prohibited substances were found with him. In September 2024, the Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced him under paragraph "g" of part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal sale of psychotropic substances on a large scale) and part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "g" of part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt on the illegal sale of psychotropic substances on a large scale). He received 4.5 years of imprisonment in a high-security colony.
Shavrin was serving his sentence in IK-6, a strict regime colony in the village of Melekhovo, Vladimir region.
