In the telegram channel of the US diplomatic mission in Russia received a message dedicated to the Second World War.
"The 80th anniversary of the Victory in the European Theater of World War II is not only a time of triumphant celebration, but also a moment of silence and reverent memory," the American diplomats said.
The embassy staff also stressed that they remember the hardships experienced by the Russian people, including the siege of Leningrad, the battle for Sevastopol and Stalingrad: "We remember grandmothers digging trenches and children carrying water and reports."
"The victory was shared. And the memory of her, too," the message says.
