The United States has done more than any other country to win World War II, President Donald Trump said on the Truth Social network.
"No one was close to us in strength, bravery and military brilliance," he writes.
The American president declared May 8 Victory Day.
"Many of our allies and friends celebrate May 8 as Victory Day, but it was we who did more to win the Second World War than any other country — incomparably more. I declare May 8 Victory Day in World War II," Trump wrote.
Trump previously stated that Russia "helped" the United States win World War II, "while losing almost 60 million lives."
Even earlier, in May 2020, Trump called only the United States and Great Britain, not to mention the Soviet Union.
