Ukraine is preparing for the worst-case scenario in negotiations with the United States, Bild writes, citing a source in the Ukrainian government.

"Namely, the cessation of support from the United States," the source said.

Kiev expressed disappointment with the peace plan of the American President Donald Trump.

"We were hoping that this was Trump's negotiating tactic," the source said.

However, the head of the White House, according to him, does not exert pressure on Vladimir Putin, does not impose any sanctions against Russia and does not express much indignation about the strikes.

"What is written on paper and what is signaled to us at the talks is unacceptable. We will not give up just like that," the Ukrainian diplomat stressed.

The Washington Post newspaper wrote about the US intention to offer Ukraine and Europe to recognize Crimea as Russian and freeze the front line as part of a peace agreement. Vladimir Zelensky then recalled the promise of Mike Pompeo in 2018, who then held the post of Secretary of State, that the United States would never recognize that the peninsula belonged to Russia.

According to Bloomberg, one of the conditions for resolving the conflict that Washington intends to propose is the transfer of the Zaporozhye NPP back to Ukraine, as well as the restoration of Kiev's control over the territories in the Kharkiv region. Russia is ready to make "quite big concessions" — in particular, it does not claim the entire territory of Ukraine, the American leader assured during a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gare Stere at the White House. Trump also expressed confidence that it would be "very difficult" to return Crimea.

The conflict would have ended instantly if Ukraine had withdrawn its troops from the regions that became part of Russia, the Kremlin is convinced.
